This 15th-century former Franciscan monastery has been in its time a nautical school, a public library, a high school and a children’s home.

Its well-documented permanent collection, covering the earliest history of the island, Roman, Byzantine and Islamic Menorca, is closed for refurbishment until late 2017; in the meantime, a couple of temporary exhibitions are holding the fort.
